Busy...Busy

Sometimes these are good words and not so good words.  The last couple of weeks have been busy with work but also socially.  And socially is what kills me.  Anyone who truly knows me.  Knows that I am a social butterfly.

To catch you all up a little.  I have not posted in 2 weeks.  Last weigh in I only lost .4 pounds.  But hey, a loss is a loss.  The scale was going in the right direction.  This week however.  Got me.  And that's ok too. I had 3 social functions.  And I enjoyed every one of them!!!!  So this week I gained 1.4 pounds.  And it didn't kill me.  lol.  I enjoyed myself and I gained.  And I am ok with it.  I was also high in SODIUM again!  That sodium sneaks into sooo many things.  Never a good thing before a weigh in.

But it's also about not continuing our bad habits.  We can splurge.  But we need to get back on track.  So I had 2 things against me last week. 3 FUN Social functions and I also was not as active last week.  That hurts as well.  So this coming week isn't just about getting back on track.  It's about doing a little more.  I was at it for 2 hours today and my body is screaming.  But that's ok.  I should sleep well tonight.  I need to do a little bit more this week.  2 reasons.  I need to get back my loss.  And I need to stay ahead.  My birthday party is this Saturday and I don't want to gain 2 weeks in a row.  And here's the thing.  I just may.  And if I do.  Then I need to just push myself that much more to get over the birthday festivities and move my buns.

Funny how a year ago, I would have a week of birthday celebrations.  But not this year.  ONEderland is so close and that is a priority.

I also have found a new place that I love and want to share with you.  It's a park here in Brampton that I have been going to the last few weeks.  It's in West Heart Lake at the top of Loafer's Lake.  What a great find!!!!!  You enter the park and there is a path that goes around.  Great path by the way for walking, jogging, biking, skate boarding or roller blading.  And then there are 5 different areas around the park with work out equipment.  I highly recommend this place.  And never very busy.  Of course till this post.  lol.  I may regret giving away my spot.  But I am sure you will all love it!!!!!

Also, in my last post I told you about a challenge that I hoped was going to help me get through the summer.  A step challenge with my cousin Val.  So far we are 1 a piece.  I won week 1.  She won week 2.  Week 3 is now under way.

To wrap it all up.  I am down a total 37.6 pounds.  And I can't wait for ONEderland.  It's ok to splurge. But it's more important to get back on track.

That Much Closer

A couple days late with my blog.  But I am still here and getting that much closer to my goals.  I wanted to hit 40 pounds by 41st Birthday which is in a couple weeks.  Looks like I will get there next week.  This week was another good week.  Lots of stress, but I did not let it get me off track.  But I am also finding that my BodyMedia Armband is not only helping in regards to keeping me on track.  It is also helping me strive for more.

Even though I had high sodium dinner the night before I weighed in.  (I really try to watch my sodium).  I still found myself to be down 1.8 Pounds Wednesday morning.  Woo Hoo!  Total of 38.6 pounds so far.  I am that much closer to ONEderland and I just cannot get there fast enough.  (For those of you unfamiliar with ONEderland.  It's when the scale reads in the 100's.)  It's been since about 2009 since I have seen that.

I have mentioned that recently I made one of the best choices I could have made by getting the BodyMedia Armband.  In case you missed it.  They use this tool on The Biggest Loser.  Not only do they use it on the ranch.  They use it when they get home as well.  After my 6th week with now.  I still believe it is truly one of the BEST inventions EVER!!!!!  Did I mention that it is actually considered a medical device in the States?  But if you have been following since I started back on my journey on January 2nd.  I haven't done too bad.  But I have lost 13.6 pounds in 6 weeks using BodyMedia with My Fitness Pal.  JUST LOVE IT!!!!!

Summer is hard for me.  Hot weather and beer are just a couple of my favourite things.  And then throw in BBQ's and parties and I'm screwed!  So, I have a new challenge for the next 10 weeks.  My cousin Val had a great idea.  She's using BodyMedia as well.  One of the many things the armband tracks is your steps.  So Val cam up with the idea of a step challenge over 10 weeks.  WONDERFUL IDEA!!!!  Will definitely help over the summer to keep on track.

So this is how it works.  First person to hit 30,000 steps in a week.  Wins that week.  The person that wins the most amount of weeks, wins the challenge.  But, if a tie happens.  5 a piece. Then it will come down to the total amount of steps walked.  Prize?  An Edible Arrangement and bragging rights.  So, unless she beats me in the morning.  I think I got this weeks bragging rights in the bag!!!!!

Difficult But Good Week

This past week was a challenging one for me.  I ended up having 3 days of meals that were really high in sodium.  Sodium as most of you know is not good for you.  The first 2 days, I knew I had.  But the 3rd.  Needless to say, I felt very bloated for the rest of the week.  Up until today that is.

I did get out walking 3 times this past week and had my steps surpass my goal of 8000 steps a day.  I was a happy camper.  I felt that this was really going to help get a little boast going toward my goal.  So when I got on the scale yesterday morning an saw that I was only down .4.  I was a little upset and discouraged.  But my cousin Val was there to lend an ear and help me remember things I tell all of you.

It's right there in the first paragraph.  SODIUM.....BAD......RETAIN WATER.  And I did feel it all week.  Also, your body can fluctuate 2 pounds any given day.  And I kept telling my cousin all week that I have not had a skinny day since weighing last Wednesday.

So, we decided that I was going to get on the scale again today and see where I was.  Guess what?  Magic happened!  lol.  I saw 211.2.  I am down 3.8 from last week.  Now that's more like it!!!!  Woo Hoo!  36.8 Pounds!!!!  I am that much closer to ONEderland and I am so very thrilled.

We have to remind ourselves that one or two bad days do not destroy our progress.  That we have to get right back on track and follow through.  I am so happy to have the support I do and I just cannot wait to see ONEerland.  I cannot get there fast enough.  But is in sight now.  And I am not giving up. A Third of the Way There

Now I feel like I am well on my way to goals.  I have lost 1/3 of my goal.  Not sure why 1/3 feels so significant.  But it does.

I just finished my 4th week with my BodyMedia Armband and still loving it!!!!  My Doctor was quite impressed with it as well and couldn't believe all the things it is capable of doing.  So now he is doing his research as well and wants to see me again in 30 Days.

I had 3 splurges this week.  Yep!  3!!!  Not a typical week. Wings twice this past week and a girls night filled with food and drinks.  With that being said.  I am down 1.4 pounds this week.  VERY HAPPY!!!!!  My Doctor said with what I ate this week, I should not be down.  That's the great thing with the armband.  Takes out the guess work.  Not matter what I consume.  (Within reason of course).  As long as I burn 1000 more calories than I take in.  I'm good.  And it is hard when your having a pot luck and you don't know how things are prepared.  So you won't know calorie counts.  But that's ok. You can't completely deprive yourself.

My goal since getting the armband is to lose 2 pounds a week.  On a whole.  I have lost 8 pounds in the last 4 weeks.  So I have hit my goal there.  My 41st Birthday is in 4 weeks.  So the next goal is to hit 40 Pounds lost for my 41st Birthday.  However, I am striving for 41 as that will be 2 pounds a week again.

With that being said.  I am down 33 pounds so far.  Very happy and well on my way to the 100 I want to lose.  1/3 of the way there.  And ONEderland is getting very close!!!!  I can't wait!!!!
